Contrast Mask E-mail
A free photoshop plugin for contrast mask

This plugin uses a contrast mask to reduce the overall contrast of the image, simultaneously bringing out more detail in both highlights and shadows.
A b/w negative of the image is blured  (with a radius controlled by the "Smoothing" slider) to avoid hard edges and then overlayed with the original, darkening the highlights and lightening the shadows.
The opacity of the overlay is controlled by the "Strength" slider.
Here is a sample:

Very nice filters as in their interface appearance one would think they cannot be to useful but when used are amazing in how they give a wide range of the effect onto the PIC / PHOTO. This allows the user to really control in detail the output.
As an interface example on many filter interfaces if one has a selection of 1 through 100 to get variety in the output one can select 1 then 25 then 50 then 100, with these PHOTO-PLUGINS even a slight movement from 1 to 3 or 15 to 17 and so on creates a noticeable change. Thank you to the PHOTO-PLUGINS team.
Thank You!

GCF,

Saw your post on DP Review and I was particularly interested in checking out the B/W Conversion plug and the Soft Focus. I've found that the one that is the most useful though has been the one you've called the Contrast Mask. About a year ago someone posted a method similar to this using an Action, but there was little in the way of control. THIS is one that is very useful.

This is fantastic; I've been looking for a method like this for a long time. I'll be back with a PayPal donation if it performs the way I think it will.

Thank you!
Thank You

Thank you very much for these brilliant filters! I like every one! They are very powerful and produce fantastic results if used properly.

I already donated and I think it's a shame that only a few people write feedback here. That's our world: Most people grab stuff for free and give you an asskick for that!
